Adamus is a major character in the Philippine fantasy TV series Encantadia (2016) and Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre. He is one of the four Sang'gres, who are guardians of powerful elemental gems. Adamus is the keeper of the Water Gem (Brilyante ng Tubig) and is the current Emerald Prince of the kingdom called Adamya. The character is played by Kelvin Miranda.

Profile[]

Adamus when he was an infant.

Adamus when he was an infant.

Adamus is the son of Alena and Memfes. He was conceived when Memfes who was at the point of death, told Alena he only wanted to marry her and have an offspring that has the blood of a brave and wise Diwata and of an Adamyan as him because he wished to see Adamya rise back to success. Alena tells Memfes his dream will be granted and touches his palm. Alena puts their hands near her heart and wishes it be for the greater good of Adamya and start having a collective dream.

Personality[]

Of the four new Sang'gre, Adamus often acts as the voice of reason, never quick to anger and always leading with compassion. He often tries to keep the peace among his fellow keepers, staying cool in the face of conflict as much as possible. Like his mother before him, he is the most romantic of the four new Sang'gre, unafraid to express affection and warmth for those his heart holds dear, Deia in particular. However, he is not without fault, though understandably so, as he was often short-tempered and impulsive during the beginning of Mitena's reign, his fierce determination to liberate Encantadia shining through. And while he is not as prone to hubris as his cousin Flamarra, he spoke proudly about his knowledge on wielding his Brilyante through watching his mother wield it all his childhood, though only ever wielding it recently at that point. He is also prone to being rash and judgmental, a flaw that Celebes pointed out during their first meeting. And while he was repentant of his hand in Olgana's first death, the resentment Deia harbored toward him only embittered him, causing the normally level-headed Sang'gre to butt heads with another for the first time in a while.

Encantadia 2016[]

Alena gave birth to Adamus days after her coronation as queen of Lireo and named him Adamus in commemoration of his father. In the Epilogue, he is seen as a kid running at the shore with Cassandra, Flamarra, and Gaiea.

Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre[]

Adamus was trained by Alena to prepare for the upcoming threat warned by Bathalumang Cassiopea. He usually sparred with Flamarra until they grew up.

After Lireo eventually fell, Adamus was greatly aggrieved by Kera Mitena ruling over Encantadia and planned an attack with Flamarra. Wearing a cloak, Adamus recklessly woke Mitena while sleeping and engaged in a fight with her together with Flamarra. They failed and retreated. Unknown to Adamus, the other Mine-a-ves followed them, resulting to the death of Wantuk. Imaw saw that Adamus is likely to get himself and many others killed, and thus he was put into a temporary forgetting spell and said his memory will return when the luntiae arrives. Under the guidance of Bukag, he was hidden away from his cousin without knowing his true origins.

Adamus and Bukag lived in a hut in the forest until sometime later, when he grew concerned over Bukag's worsening health. One day, he went to find herbs in the forest for his sickness. Nearby, while picking some plants, Mine-a-ve soldiers arrived and started harassing an Encantada. A Mine-a-ve woman named Deia arrived while Adamus hid himself behind a tree. He watched as she helped the Encantada by scolding the soldiers. Adamus expressed that she's kind even though she was on the enemy's side. After Deia left, Adamus went out of hiding. The Encantada recognized him and asked him if he was Adamus since he looked like him. Bukag appeared just in time and said it was impossible that he's a Sang'gre, and took him away once more.

He later encountered his cousin Flamarra while looking for a cure for Bukag. Flamarra told him that his name is Adamus, and that he was a Sang'gre. Adamus refused to believe it until Flamarra inspected his back - and there she found the unmistakable Sang'gre mark. However, Adamus still didn't believe this and engaged in a fight with Flamarra.

Adamus narrowly escaped the battle and returned to where Bukag is. He then asked him questions about his identity. Ultimately, Bukag realized that it was time, and it was best to bring him to Imaw. There, Imaw removed the spell, and Adamus began to remember everything. Soon, he was reunited with his cousin in the Asilades rebel camp.

Some time after, he and Flamarra encounter Pirena, but Mitena arrived and ambushed the trio. This resulted in them escaping, and Pirena severely wounded. The cousins gathered some medicinal herbs for the Hara before they were found by the Mine-a-ves and captured. As they were brought to Lireo, Mitena subsequently removed their ivictus ability. Adamus was later taken for an entertainment called Avevar Ultador wherein he battles a Mine-a-ve soldier. Unsatisfied with his victory, Mitena made him battle Hedrik, a Sapiryan-turned-slave and son of the Mashna-de Mayca. Despite Adamus's mercy, Mitena wanted one to die during the fight and ordered Adamus to kill him. However, she was stopped by Mayca, who offered information in exchange for sparing her son's life.

Appearance[]

Adamus dons his "baluting pandigma" by the grace and power of the Brilyante ng Tubig.

Adamus New Appearance

Adamus's warrior armor is a teal and deep green outfit that clearly signifies his connection to the Brilyante ng Tubig (Gem of Water), highlighted by the striking circular, swirling emblem centrally placed on his chest. This sculpted chest piece and the matching shoulder and arm guards feature intricate, shell-like patterns, reflecting an aquatic life of Adamya, while the open torso and dark pants maintain a fierce, agile suitable for a powerful water gem warrior. After casting the spell to stop Gargan’s lies, his hair changed, it had green designs or extensions that looked like sea life and his eyes began to glow green.

Young Adamus

As a child he wears a nature-inspired training outfit representing water gem, primarily in shades of forest and moss green, consisting of a textured, sleeveless vest with overlapping fabric that mimics the organic look of layers or seaweed. This is paired with dark, rustic arm guards (bracers) wrapped in fabric and simple, earth-toned pants that allow for the agility needed during his training. While this early look is more humble and rugged than his shimmering adult armor, the dominant green palette and the presence of the Water Gem's ripple motif on his attire subtly mark him as the rightful heir to the kingdom of Adamya and a powerful champion of the water element.

His training outfit features a regal and fierce appearance that reflects his heritage as the Prince of Adamya. His warrior attire is dominated by vibrant teal and deep green armor, designed with intricate shell-like patterns and an elaborate patchwork of scales that shimmer like a lush river when touched by light. Central to his appearance is the Water Gem symbol resting on his chest: a striking circular emblem featuring swirling, ripple-like patterns that mirror the effect of a water drop. This chest piece is often accompanied by green and gold headpieces with aural fins, paying homage to the aquatic nature of his kingdom.

Sang'gre Adamus 2025

In his role as the temporary Ivtre, Adamus presents a regal yet ethereal appearance, characterized by a crisp white and gold color palette that signifies his transition into the spiritual realm. He wears a sleeveless, high-collared tunic top in a bright white fabric, featuring a structured, armor-like chest piece trimmed with thick gold piping and fastened with metallic circular studs. Around his waist, he sports a wide, textured gold sash that adds a pop of rich color and defines his silhouette. His pants are matching white, tailored trousers that tuck into shimmering silver-white boots, while a long, flowing white cape hangs from his shoulders to complete the majestic, otherworldly ensemble.

Love Interest[]

Deia[]

It is hinted at the second version of the full trailer that Deia will be Sang'gre Adamus' love interest. Adamus and Deia first encountered each other during the invasion. Deia hesitated to kill him. Later Adamus sees Deia helping an Encantada being harassed by Mine-a-ve soldiers. He says Deia is kind even though she is among the enemies.

Powers and Abilities[]

Adamus was shown to be skilled in the mystic arts, having been trained by Hara Alena since his childhood.

  • Ivictus(Teleportation/Invisibilty)- A natural ability of a Sang'gre. However, Mitena took this ability away using the four elemental gems.He can move instantaneously from one location to another without physically traveling the distance in between. However, teleportation is not possible if you are unfamiliar with the location or have not explored it yet. This ability has since been removed by Mitena upon their capture but with the help of the water gem Adamus regained this kind of ability.
  • Zoolingualism- This only possessed by Sapiryan's to speak any lifeforms in Encantadia.
  • Hydrokinesis - As a child, Adamus was shown to have a limited ability to control and shape water - probably due to the influence of the Gemstone of Water that his mother currently holds.
  • Sonokinesis - Alena taught him Sonokinesis. His voice, like ocean waves, can charm people and animals when he sings. He can also create strong sound waves to break things and knock out others. Adamus once used this ability to calm down Yeshra's on their way to Devas, with other Sang'gres. His voice appears green when he uses his powers.
  • Longevity - An exclusive ability to the royal family. They remain youthful and live longer than other encantados, but their only weaknesses are illness or being killed.
  • Mind Control Resistance (Possibly) - Adamus' father is a member of the Gunikars, an Adamyan tribe. They have the innate ability to create a mental shield, protecting themselves from any mind-influencing powers. By touching another person, a Gunikar can extend this protective ability, sharing the shield with them.

Weaponry:[]

  • Agos II (Pilum) - Adamus wields Agos, a duplicate sword of Alena, Water Gem gave it to him, called pilum that strikes with the swirling force of ocean waves. During combat with Agos, the pilum emits a bright green liquid from its blade. As a pilum, Adamus can also use it as a spear, throwing it at enemies with precision.
  • Daluyong (Chakram) - He wields the chakram by hurling it toward foes, and it can also divide into two crescent-shaped blades that slice through enemies. When Adamus unleashed those blades, they typically glowed with a greenish energy and moved with the force of ocean waves.
  • Brilyante ng Tubig - This grants the keeper many abilities. These abilities include hydrokinesis, which allows the keeper to control and manipulate water. The keeper can also bestow blessings or curses. The keeper has the power to shapeshift into marine life forms, and the ability to manipulate memories. According to Imaw, the Water Gem in Encantadia is source of life for both flora and fauna, making it one of the most powerful gems.

Trivia[]

  • Adamus waking up Mitena before attacking her became a meme online.

  • Paopao and Adamus are only males chosen as the keepers of the gems.
  • Among Esmeralda's blood, he and his brother, Kahlil, are the only known male Sang'gres.
  • Alena mentioned in the Director’s cut of the finale that he named her son Adamus so that he won’t forget where his father Memfes came from, the land of Adamya.
