Sang'gre Amihan
"Hindi ko isusuko ang aking karangalan sayo. Mas iibigin ko pang mamatay para sa Lireo at para sa Encantadia."
-To Hagorn before death

Not to be confused with Amihan (Minea's sister).

Sang'gre Amihan is a major character in the Philippine fantasy television series Encantadia and Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre produced by GMA Network, serving as one of its main heroines. Amihan is the former keeper of the Brilyante ng Hangin and was the rightful successor of her mother Mine-a as Queen of Lireo, the kingdom of the Diwata. She is portrayed by actress Kylie Padilla.

Profile[]

Amihan is the second daughter and the immediate successor of Ynang Reyna Mine-a. She is named after Mine-a's sister in the hopes that she would grow to be as kindhearted as her namesake. She was sent to the world of the mortals (because of Cassiopea's warning to Mine-a); there, she grew up believing Encantadia was a mere fairy tale conjured up by her father until Hagorn and the Hathors attacked them one night. She is the child who would fulfill Cassiopea's prophecy—a great ruler foretold to bring forth the fall of the kingdom of Hathoria. For this, Amihan continues to be relentlessly pursued, even until adulthood. People say that she is just like her mother for having a soft heart and a regal personality, which is true.

Personality[]

When Amihan was young, she would easily get tired of training and often complain to Raquim about it. She is also aware of how she differs from the children she grew up with, often questioning why she did not go to school like the others despite her age at the time. She even carried with her a fair amount of skepticism, choosing not to believe her father's stories at first.

When she got older, Amihan became the wisest and the most just of the four Sang'gres, acting most like the eldest sister even though she isn't. She resembles her mother, Mine-a, in many ways. For example, like her mother, Amihan cares deeply for the people she loves, especially her family. However, her elder sister, Pirena, often abuses this kindness. Thus, she is seen as the one with the most potential to succeed Mine-a to the throne, something that Pirena envies.

However, despite her kindness, she will not hesitate to fight back. She only permitted Pirena to return to their home if she surrendered the Brilyante ng Apoy to Amihan. Amihan also has a curious personality, as shown when Amihan saw Lira use her cellphone. Her love for her kingdom is most evident in her unwavering determination to die fighting for it. In an attempt to rescue her imprisoned supporters, Amihan was willing to return to Lireo alone.

Since the coup that was enacted by Hagorn and her elder sister, Pirena, Amihan has been consumed by anger, questioning everything she has done up to this point. She has met all enemies with a serene hostility that is quite uncharacteristic to her. However, she remains determined to win back her kingdom and protect those who remain faithful to her. It is in these trying times that she proved how effective of a leader she is, not simply breeding submission through intimidation and violence but inspiring the faith and support of those loyal to her through genuine compassion and a willingness to even lay her own life on the line for her people.

Despite her burgeoning fury directed towards those who work against her, Amihan retains a soft spot for Paopao, the little boy that rescued her from her enemies' clutches. She is quick to defend him from enemies and doubtful friends alike and has since kept Paopao's powers secret. She even allots time to training him and promised to teach him how to use his powers.

Recent events show that Amihan is more cautious and shrewder in her dealings, even with family. She followed Alena to Pirena's hideout, where she learns the painful truth of her younger sister's betrayal. Despite this revelation, Amihan chose not to reveal this to the rest of those faithful to her, especially to Ybrahim and Danaya, unwilling to let Alena hurt anyone else's feelings. She also chose not to punish Alena but instead showed Alena that because of what she did, she is no better than Danaya, who killed her son, Kahlil, to save Lira's life. Amihan also successfully deceived her two antagonistic sisters into thinking that she wouldn't infiltrate Lireo, only to do so when Pirena and Alena's guards were down.

Amihan's smile is always showing her genuine kindness.

Amihan's smile is always showing her genuine kindness.

Despite everything that has happened to Amihan and how much pain even the people she is closest to had done upon her, her selflessness will always come to the forefront. She chose to distance herself from Ybarro, regardless of her own feelings for him, because she did not want to get in between him and her younger sister, Alena (who Amihan still took in despite her traitorous actions to the resistance at one point). Amihan's sense of justice is also intact as she refused to harm Lilasari any further when she infiltrated their camp after learning that Lilasari was pregnant, reminding Alena that it is against their principles as a Sang'gre to harm a mother-to-be.

Amihan is a compassionate and forgiving queen, just like her mother Minea. Despite the pain she has experienced, she still holds forgiveness in her heart for her sisters, such as Pirena. And while she is compassionate and magnanimous in much of her dealings, she is decisive when dealing with her enemies, preferring stratagems that disable any chance of resistance against her without putting any of her people at risk. One of Amihan's goals is to fulfill her mother's wish by accepting Pirena's apology for her actions in Encantadia. Amihan's bravery is evident in her willingness to sacrifice her life during battles. For instance, she saved Encantadia by defeating Hadezar and receiving Emre's blessing. She also led her forces to victory against Hathoria. Overall, Amihan embodies the qualities of a loving and courageous queen, setting her apart from her sisters.

After Pirena reconciled with them and became their ally again, Amihan was determined to help her sister grow. Despite Pirena's own misgivings on her capacity for heroism, Amihan never questioned it, fully believing in her sister despite everything they went through.

Even in death, her compassion for Encantadia remains alive as she could not rest among the virtuous dead in Devas knowing what has transpired in Encantadia during Mitena's invasion. She was determined to escape Devas with Ybrahim to come to the aid of her family, friends, and allies, with only the possibility of eternal damnation and her daughters' pleas to stand down giving her pause.

Story[]

The four gems Arc[]

Birth[]

Amihan is born on the day that Arvak was killed, fulfilling the first half of Cassiopea's prophecy. When Mine-a was asleep, Gurna kidnapped Amihan and brought her to the forest to kill her but she failed because Enuo had saved her. Because of this incident and because of Cassiopea's warning, Mine-a decided it was best for Raquim to bring Amihan to the human world for their child's safety.

Mine-a often sent colorful birds to visit Amihan which made the villagers suspicious that she and Raquim are no ordinary beings.

Debut Appearance[]

When she became older, Amihan was taught the history of Encantadia and fighting using sticks by Raquim. Amihan would often question her father as to why she doesn't go to school like other children to which Raquim replies that because they are not from this world. Amihan tells this to Jigs but Jigs just laughed it off, saying that her father's just entertaining her by telling her fairy tales.

Attacked by the Hathors[]

Later that night Amihan was visited by Mine-a in a dream, telling her to wake up and tell her father that the Hathors are coming. Amihan wakes up and tells Raquim that she dreamt about a beautiful woman giving her a warning. Amihan thought it weas only the effects of Raquim's stories that she dreamt of such but then the Hathors appeared for real. Raquim and Amihan fought the Hathors and managed to kill them but more and more appeared so they ran away. When Hagorn found them, Raquim told Amihan to hide as he faces his former friend. Amihan cheers for his father as he fights with Hagorn. Later, Agane appears behind her trapping her with her rope. Raquim gets distracted giving Hagorn the opportunity to stab and kill Raquim. Amihan runs to his father. Raquim gives her his final words before finally passing away. Hagorn then stabs Amihan fearing Cassiopeia's prophecy would be fulfilled once he let her live. Fatefully, Amihan managed to survive from the stab wound Aquil and Muros found her still breathing. They carried her back to the portal to Encantadia.

Brought to Encantadia, her true homeworld[]

Amihan wakes up and sees Imaw. Amihan attacks Imaw calling him "Impakta" or "Tiyanak" but calmed down when Imaw explained to her that he is a friend. Imaw introduces him to Encantadia and the kingdom of Lireo and tells her that someone is excited to meet her referring to Mine-a. Amihan met her sisters and easily got along well with Alena and Danaya while Pirena at first pushed her away but later with the comfort of Mine-a warmed up to Amihan and treated her kindly even giving a bouquet of flowers to show her acceptance but it didn't last that long because Gurna once again poisoned Pirena's mind. Amihan trained along with her sisters under the teachings of Aquil.

Queen candidacy Arc[]

Queen candidacy[]

Amihan was the third to take the test later she was joined by Pirena and the two fought against the warrior. During the battle, Amihan was thrown off the balcony Pirena tried to save her but she eventually let go of her hand. Amihan was saved by the warrior whom she eventually recognized as Ynang Reyna Mine-a. After the test had ended, Mine-a declared Amihan as the new queen of Lireo to which Pirena did not agree to and defected from Lireo.

Amihan did her best to follow the advice of Mine-a and refused to hurt Pirena making her vulnerable to her attacks. Thanks to the efforts of her everyone Alena most of all for creating a tsunami, the Hathors were forced to retreat. Amihan faints out of massive blood loss. Thanks to Danaya who healed her wounds she is saved. Amihan felt like a weak leader but Mine-a comforted her telling she did the right thing. Mine-a sought help from Emre and Emre's response to Mine-a is a child which Amihan will bear. The father of the child she shall meet in a dream. Danaya and Ades groomed Amihan believing she must be presentable because anytime she might be visited by the Encantado. On that very night in her dream, she is in the forest and an Encantado arrives.

The collective dream happens and Amihan wakes up after. A mark of a flower appeared on her hand signifying that she is carrying a child. She happily told her sisters what the Encantado looked like unknown to Amihan, she would soon meet that Encantado when she pays the Mandirigma camp a visit bringing Hitano and some Lirean soldiers along, to have a word of Alena's lover. She asks which of them is Ybarro. Apitong asks her to wait for a while as Wantuk calls for him. When he arrived Amihan lowers her hood and looks at Ybarro to her shock she recognizes him as the Encantado on her dream. Amihan leaves the camp saying there's nothing left for her to tell. Upon returning to Lireo, Amihan rushes to Imaw wanting to confirm if the father of her child is really a royalty. Imaw confirms and Amihan confesses the identity of the father of her child which happens to be Ybarro. Not wanting to hurt Alena, she told him not to tell anyone about this. When she is near the moment of her childbirth, she was with Mine-a unaware of an assassination attempt, just when Mine-a was about to take her out of the room Mine-a gets shot by a poisoned arrow. Amihan rushes to the balcony and the murderer tries to shoot her with an arrow which she stops using her powers. Amihan chases after the murderer blasting him with wind energy bolts but she failed because of the interference of Agane. Because the moment of her childbirth has come, Amihan returns to Lireo and gives birth to Lira. Amihan is the most affected of Mine-a's death having been in her side when she was shot by the poisoned arrow. She regrets her mother not able to see and meet her daughter Lira. Furthermore she still needed her guidance in ruling Lireo.

Pirena's revenge Arc[]

The return of Pirena[]

After the death of their mother, Pirena surprises everyone by asking for repentance for all her sins. Danaya believes she must be punished in accordance to the rule of Lireo that all traitors must be sentenced to death. Remembering their mother's wish for them to be united once again Amihan spares Pirena from punishment but tells her that doesn't mean she trusts her. Amihan told Pirena that in order for her to regain her trust she must first return the Brilyante ng Apoy. Pirena surrendered the gem to her telling her this signifies that she didn't return to bring harm to Lireo. Unaware that was only an act to gain her trust. Amihan then becomes the keeper of the gem until she completely trusts Pirena. Amihan was completely oblivious about the treachery Pirena has been doing behind her back just so that she could overthrow her from Lireo. Amihan would not realize or even notice that Pirena had switched her child for hers because of the incantation Pirena had casted. Amihan would raise Mira clueless that she wasn't her daughter but her niece rather however, her duties as queen has made Amihan busy to spend time with Mira so she entrusted her to Ades.

When Hagorn summons the power and aid of the Hadezar, or the souls from hell. Amihan led Lireo and their allies to fight them head on. But having to discover that this spirit warriors are near invulnerable, even with the powers of the three gems on their side. While fighting Hagorn's allies with fearsome vigilance, they discovered that these Hadezars can only be killed by their own brethren, or other spiritual beings from the afterlife. Amihan thought that she can be able to defeat the Hadezars if she will let herself be killed  by them, and ask for Emre's blessing to become an Ivrte and fight Hagorn's army. Before that could happen, Alena overheard her plan and tried to take Amihan's place to die in battle, since Alena thinks that she has nothing to lose anymore, as Ybarro finally profess his true love for Amihan and Khalil, her only son was already in Devas. Amihan then proceeds to Sapiro where Hagorn and his allies are waiting, she fights them with grace and bravery, being able to take down many Hadezar with ease. While the battle between Amihan and Hagorn is ensuing, Alena came and plead to Amihan that she will be the one doing the fighting and not her. Alena brought Adhara's scepter with her to boost her fighting capabilities over the Hadezar. Still not enough, Amihan and Alena played a tag of war to decide whom is best to take the place. But Amihan is still certain and strongly disagree that Alena must die to become an Ivtre. Alena was dissuaded by Amihan to proceed, leaving Amihan and Hagorn's army to battle once more. Lira, Danaya, Hitano, Ybarro and Alena still tried to proceed to rescue Amihan, but before they can get to her in time, Amihan was already defeated by Hagorn, near death, Hagorn tried to take the Gem of Air from Amihan, only to have it float up in the sky and disappear, returning in time to have the gem be kept by Danaya.

Amihan is sitting beside the Mother Tree most of the time and Ades comforts her. Amihan sees the mystrious fruit at the Mother Tree and she desires to get it in order to go back to Encantadia. Howeve,r Ades doubts her that if she would eat the fruit in her appearance and memories and powers would be given up. Amihan makes her decision to eat the fruit and she will be get reincarnated. Emre appears to bless Amihan's decision. Amihan later eats the fruit in order to be reincarnated. Amihan's spirit revived and merged with the dying Punjabwe-a Ariana, becoming the Amihan's sarkosi. At the same time, the Air Gem symbol has chosen her as its new master.

Epilogue[]

After the final war, per request from Cassiopea and due to Ariana's greatness during the final war, Emre allows Amihan to return to Lireo as an Ivtre, to be present during the coronation of her sister Alena and to reunite with Ybrahim and Lira.

Encantadia Chronicles Sang'gre[]

Amihan in the new season outfit that was inspired on Valkyrie.

She returned as an Ivtre in the Kingdom of Sapiro when Ybrahim died for as he gave up his life to Bathalang Emre, in order to meet Amihan in the afterlife. Amihan wanted to help her sisters during the fight against the new dark chaos caused by Mitena. Amihan prays and calls on the Devas, using an incantation to help Pirena get strong, so they can find the new hero, Terra, and protect their beloved Encantadia. After the recent chaos in Encantadia, Amihan appears again narrating what became of the souls of her parents and other ivtres in Devas and why their souls remain is because there are things still bothering her and her fellow ivtres and wounds yet to heal. Amihan attempted to return to the mortal plane with Emre's blessing but was denied, earning Amihan's contempt. She was baffled at Emre's refusal to intervene in order to protect his creations and choosing instead to allow Mitena and her troops to lay waste to the kingdom she gave her life to protect. She attempted to leave Devas with Ybrahim but decided against it after the threat of eternal damnation in Balaak and the pleas of her daughters, Mira and Lira.

During the new Sang'gre's temporary voyage to Devas, Amihan appeared to welcome her sister and greet their successors, in particular Deia who inherits her Gem. Upon being presented with her now inert former Gem, she reacts with disgust at what befell it. She then joined them to meet with Emre (despite their initial conflict) to prepare the new Sang'gre in their quest to re-empower their Gems, telling the story of the ancient Kambal Diwa to their living visitors. She was tasked to join Deia in convincing Erenea, the Air Gem's original kambal diwa, to rejoin them. Upon arriving to Erenea's realm, she initially served to protect Deia but was held back by Erenea's powers. After Deia successfully convinced Erenea to come with them, Amihan approvingly congratulated her on her courage and willingness to look past her blood ties in service of her duty to the greater good of Encantadia. She was then seen personally surrendering the Gem of Air and Water to Deia and Adamus respectively. She was notably absent in the succeeding events, as other departed souls in Devas stated that she and Ybrahim purposely confined themselves to a chamber in Devas, where they cannot be tempted to attempt to leave the realm.

In the new series, Amihan got several chances to return to Encantadia after her death. Her sister Danaya and Cassiopeia's blessing summoned her to help fight Gargan.

Amihan's Arrival in Encantadia

Appearance and Outfits[]

Amihan has a chest length wavy brown hair. She has a heart shaped face, with sleek brown eyes, a refined nose, and full lips, complete with a fair complexion. Her physical features combined with her elegant outfit provides her a regal, dignified aura.

Her formal appearance was once an intricate gown in different tints of blue, along with white and gray. The gown's bust and short sleeves are intricately designed to mimic the movement of wind. Her regalia is completed with a golden tiara with ornaments that resemble a flock of doves

She was then seen wearing a much simpler dress when she was with the Resistance in Sapiro, having her hair in a simple braid and a golden necklace with a blue gem in the center. The sleeveless top was in a shade of light brown and accented with dark blue fabric and the skirt reached the floor and in the same shade of blue as the accents of the top.

Upon returning to Lireo, she donned two different dresses. The first was a golden sleeved dress with a mandarin collar. The second and most commonly seen is a variation of her casual dress, only with more intricate designs, along with a long golden cloak. In both outfits, Amihan is adorned with the crown of Lireo.

Her casual appearance takes the form of a sleeveless pale blue dress with a dark blue v-neck collar and a similarly colored belt. She pairs this outfit with a long, flowing hooded robe colored silver and royal blue and designed to resemble plumage. The sleeves of the robe and the border of the hood are colored differently, appearing sky blue. Her casual appearance becomes formal once the cape is added. This casual dress has also be donned while she was in Sapiro, serving as her sleeping gown.

Her battle armor consists of multiple pieces, all of which are predominantly in shades of blue, her signature color. She wears a winged circlet designed to fit her head and frame her face, adorned with a small gem at the center of her forehead. Like her sisters, she wears light armor composed of a

breastplate, a pair of shoulder plates and gauntlets stylized to resemble wings, a belt with a winged buckle, a skirt designed to resemble plumage, a pair of silver polyenes and silver greaves. The pieces are outfitted above pieces of blue fabric. Like her sister, Alena, Amihan also has a long train of blue fabric, its length going from her waist and under her skirt to her feet. Her outfit is complete with a pair of silver and black shoes. Recently, her outfit has incorporated a loose cape made of the same material as the train that flows from her skirt and her shoes are simply black in color.

She has gained a variation of her default armor thanks to the magic of the fifth Brilyante, which affords her the ability to blend in the shadows and move unnoticed. Pieces akin to her default armor are carried over to this variation: her winged circlet, breastplate, shoulder plates, gauntlets, and belt. However, they differ in a sense that their coloration is much darker and appear lighter in weight to suit the armor's needs. These pieces are outfitted above a black full-bodied suit complete with a cape and a mask.

The V-neck night gown she uses to sleep in was inherited from her mother, Mine-a.

Amihan's teleportation effect was similar to most Diwatas, disappearing and reappearing in a flurry of gray mist. However, upon acquiring the Brilyante ng Hangin, her teleportation effect has been modified. She now teleports in a manner akin to a strong breeze, gathering in the area she is to appear in until it dissipates, indicative of her element.

Amihan ECS2025

During her funeral and her appearance in Devas after she was killed by Hagorn, she wears a long white and purple gown similar to Amihan in the 2005 series. In her warrior form in Devas, the color of her armor and circlet is now white and silver with gold accents. Her brown hair is now tied in a rounded-style braid.

Powers and Abilities[]

Amihan's exceptional combat skills with speed and reflexes.

As a living Diwata[]

  • Ivictus - An innate ability unique to the royal family of the kingdom of Lireo, Amihan has the ability to move from one place to another without occupying the space in between, disappearing and reappearing in a wisp of condensed air. She retains this ability as an Ivtre sent down with Emre's blessing to combat against the Hadezar also when Bathalumang Cassiopea gave her opportunity to go back in Encantadia to fight Bathalang Gargan.
  • Superhuman Vitality - Amihan stands out from her people as a being who possesses incredible life force and physical energy, allowing her to survive, even barely, from sustaining injuries that would normally kill another individual. She survived being impaled in the stomach with a sword and even having her throat slit long enough to be healed by those with the power to do so. However, despite this, she can still be killed, as evidenced by her actual death by Hagorn's hand.
  • Veiled Realm Vision - Amihan has the ability to spot hidden spirits and souls that has no body or entrapped. As Arde said to Adhara, air keepers can see all secrets. This power gives her spirit vision and the ability to connect with spirits.
  • Aerokinesis - Amihan, a powerful diwata and former keeper of the Air Gem, has more experience than any other air elemental gem holder. Blessed by the deity Cassiopea, she uses her air powers to protect Encantadia and the Mortal World from the Black God, Gargan. She can unleash powerful air blasts usually white or airy appearance, strong enough to knock out enemies on impact, making them deadly. In one battle, she combined her air energy with the other Sang'gres' elements to defeat Bathalang Gargan.

As an Ivtre[]

  • Flight - As an Ivtre sent down from Devas to aid in the war against Hagorn and the Hadezar, Amihan was able to access the power of unaided flight, which allowed her the ability to directly attack the dragon Hagorn summoned with the Bertud ni Ether and eventually kill it.
  • Divine Empowerment - After Emre erased the lines on her palm upon meeting her in Devas, he stated that Amihan was no longer bound to destiny, granting her the ability to choose her fate. With this, she took the retre who sent her to Devas back into herself, granting her the strength to safely return to the mortal plane to aid in the war against the Hadezar. Upon returning as she intended, now that she too is a spirit like the Hadezar, she possessed the ability to effectively slay them, something she did successfully alongside her nephew, Kahlil.
  • Reincarnation (formerly) - After eating fruit from the Puno ng Buhay in Devas, Amihan was granted the ability to return to the land of the living in the form of another, that being Ariana, princess of the Punjabwe tribe. However, despite the notion that she wouldn't retain even a glimmer of her past life, Ariana would often have flashes of her previous life as Amihan, taking on many of Amihan's traits, and even be destined to wield Amihan's Gem.
  • Master in Armed and Unarmed Combat - Amihan is arguably the most talented of the four Sang'gres in direct combat, having been trained by her father Raquim since childhood. Unlike many of her people who rely on their weapons to fight effectively, Amihan combined her skill with the sword, as well as a talent for hand-to-hand combat and even incorporating her Brilyante in direct combat, seamlessly turning the tides of nearly every battle she faced in her favor. Her skill is also not restricted to the sword, as she was seen wielding a spear to prevent Pirena from attacking their mother after she was rejected from inheriting the kingdom of Lireo.
  • Master Strategist - While Pirena is known for being the most intelligent of the four daughters of Mine-a, Amihan is not to be underestimated in the realm of tactical warfare both in and out of the field of battle, as she frequently demonstrated. For one, she only allowed Pirena to return to Lireo if she surrendered the Gem of Fire. Also, upon learning that Pirena intended to use Lira as a bargaining chip against her, Amihan made sure to retrieve Mira from the mortal realm to be able to return the favor, making use of channels that even Pirena wasn't aware of. She also successfully infiltrated Lireo many times while it was occupied by her enemies using a variety of means. She even outsmarted Hagorn twice, the first by deceiving him on a wild goose chase for his daughter while she instructed her forces to wipe out a vast majority of Hagorn's armies and the second by allowing herself to be killed by him only to return from the dead with Emre's blessing to wipe out the near entirety of his Hadezar army.
  • Peak Physical Condition - As a natural consequence of being well trained in combat since childhood, Amihan's physical prowess stands out among her sisters. Her speed, flexibility, agility, and reflexes are second to none in the heat of battle, allowing her to outmaneuver her opponents before striking them down.

Weaponry[]

  • Arkrey - A spirit and blood-forged short sword originally owned by her father, Raquim. Amihan chose the weapon as a signature blade to avenge his father's death. As a uniquely forged weapon, it reacts to her spirit and attune with her in combat, delivering extra powerful cuts and blows to her enemies, as seen when trailing blue smokes comes out of the blade whenever she fights we it. As a spirit-forged, it recognized Amihan as its owner, even when Amihan is in the body of Ariana which gave the latter the ability to don the late Queen's armor.
  • Brilyante ng Hangin - After her elder sister, Pirena, claimed the Brilyante ng Apoy for herself, Amihan was designated by their mother Mine-a to guard the Gem of Air to mitigate the possibility of it being taken and used for evil. As the intended keeper of the Air Gem, Amihan had access to all of its powers, wielding them with tremendous efficiency in and out of combat. Some of her most noteworthy feats include flight, summoning tornadoes, and even pulling the air out of another's lungs. While the Gem was in her possession, it was never taken from her, nor did she ever surrender it to her enemies. And even after her death, the Gem of Air recognizes her spirit, obeying the commands of Ariana (her reincarnation) to leave Hagorn and return to her.

Notes and Trivia[]

  • Amihan is shown to have a talent on drawing, as shown when she presented her drawings of a cellphone.
  • Due to being raised in the mortal realm, Amihan is the only daughter of Mine-a to initially have an intimate understanding of its culture and customs, allowing her to understand her daughter Lira's idiosyncrasies in a way the others around them cannot. Even so, there are things in the mortal realm that still fascinate her, such as cellphones. Eventually, Danaya too would share this distinction with Amihan after living in the mortal realm for a considerable period, even learning how to cook dishes native to the mortal realm.
  • Along with Danaya, Amihan is one of 2 daughters of Mine-a who have held the greatest number of Gems in their active states, though at different points in time. She held the Brilyante ng Apoy after Pirena surrendered it to her while she held the Brilyante ng Tubig after Lila-sari surrendered it to her. Finally, she held the Brilyante ng Diwa after her spirit then housed in Ariana forcibly reclaimed it from Hagorn, along with her signature Brilyante.
  • Amihan and Kylie Padilla are both the second oldest of the four main heroines.
  • Amihan shares many differences with her predecessor from the 2005 installment.
    • First and foremost, Amihan from 2005 survived till the end of the series, only being brought to the brink of death once before willing herself back to life. Amihan from 2016, on the other hand, sacrificed her life so that she may be able to have the power to wipe out the Hadezar plaguing the land. However, this narrative change was implemented due to the real-life pregnancy of Amihan's portrayer, Kylie Padilla. But in real plan is Amihan would be lived for a long time reuniting with her sisters.
      • The circumstances with which the lines on her palms vanished differ between series, as well. In 2005, it happened of her own sheer force of will, signifying that she is no longer bound to the machinations of fate and granting her additional abilities that proved vital to her moving forward. In 2016, it was bestowed on her by Emre prior to returning to the mortal realm to fight against the Hadezar and was never again revisited. It's overly obvious and reinforced by numerous hints: the gods in Encantadia cannot control or dictate destiny, as they've granted free will and choice. They seek what's best for Encantadia's sake as they faced many challenges and true change, just like what Pirena did for helping Encantadia, as new goddess Cassiopea granted her wish to become alive again. In Encantadia 2016's Episode 146, Emre tells that Amihan and Kahlil will return to Encantadia someday, so they can reunite with their families. The Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre hints this really happens, Amihan joins her sisters on a major mission while Hagorn and Gargan wreak chaos and destruction in Encantadia.
    • According to Mrs. Suzette Doctolero, Encantadia's writer, said the same thing happened in 2005 and 2016 versions. In the 2016 Amihan role, Kylie Padilla got pregnant, just like Dawn Zulueta did as Mine-a in 2005. So, they changed the scripts to give the actresses rest and time off.
    • Amihan from 2005 only ever wielded the Gem of Air. Amihan from 2016, on the other hand, handled the Fire and Water Gems as well, and even the Soul Gem in her second life as Ariana.
    • Amihan from 2005 never lost the Gem of Air, only being cut off from its power temporarily after returning to the past before it left Emre's care. Amihan from 2016, on the other hand, also never lost the Gem of Air but willingly gave it up to Danaya upon her death.
    • Amihan from 2005 had multiple love interests, Ybrahim and Azulan, but ended up with neither. Amihan from 2016 only ever had Ybrahim, and even ended up with him in the end.
    • Amihan from 2005 fell into a deep depression after losing the crown to Pirena. Amihan from 2016, on the other hand, regarded this betrayal with more anger than sadness and quickly assumed leadership of the resistance when she had the chance.
    • Amihan from 2005 dealt with suicidal ideations after Lira died, wishing to join her daughter in Devas. Since Amihan from 2016 was the one who died instead, it was Lira who aimed to go to Devas to bring her back, but not through taking her own life.
    • Amihan from 2005 never reclaimed the crown after liberating Lireo, hoping to pass on the crown to Lira before it was given to Danaya instead. Amihan from 2016 did otherwise, reclaiming her throne after forcing Hagorn and Lila-sari's forces out of their kingdom.
    • Amihan from 2005 was more susceptible to Pirena's deception, allowing her older sister to easily usurp her throne. Amihan from 2016 was shrewder in her dealings with her older sister, but even then, her throne was stolen from her.
    • Amihan from 2005 sparingly used the Brilyante ng Hangin in and out of combat, making more use of it as time went on. However, Amihan from 2016 used it much more frequently, incorporating it into her fighting style rather seamlessly.
    • Amihan from 2016 made a promise to her mother that she would never bring any real harm to Pirena, but would break this when pushed too far. Amihan from 2005 made no such promise and expressed desire to kill not just Pirena but even Alena due to their transgressions against her or Lira.
    • Amihan from 2005 was noticeably more flawed in character than her successor, falling into a spiral of self-loathing after being usurped by Pirena and often allowing her unwavering love for Lira to cloud her judgment, even initially regarding her own granddaughter with apathy due to her grief. Amihan from 2016 was far more level-headed and even-tempered, not allowing her personal connections to supersede her duties as Queen.
    • Amihan from 2005 outlived her daughter, Lira, and had a significant part in raising her granddaughter, Cassandra, after rescuing her from the past. Amihan from 2016 was outlived by Lira and did not have a part in raising Cassandra, only ever meeting her once she too passed away.
    • Amihan from 2005 would end up finding a trusted confidante and companion in her sister, Pirena, despite being at odds with her in the past. Amihan from 2016 did not get this chance, sacrificing her life shortly after their reconciliation, though her older sister always held her in the highest regard despite it.
    • Amihan from 2016 was named after Mine-a's younger sister, who died long before her birth. Mine-a did not have a sister in the 2005 installment; thus her name was entirely her own.
    • Amihan's entire bloodline in 2005 survived by the end of the series, with Lira tying loose ends in the mortal realm before rejoining Cassandra who would then succeed Danaya as the queen of Lireo. On the other hand, by 2025, Amihan's entire bloodline was wiped out.
    • The recurrent gag of the Brilyante ng Hangin failing to locate someone on Amihan's behalf in 2005 was entirely non-existent in the 2016 installment.
    • Amihan from 2005 rarely exhibited her knowledge of the mortal world whilst in Encantadia. However, her 2016 counterpart was much more open to making use of her experiences there despite living in another world, even educating her allies on these matters, especially after taking Paopao under her wing.
    • When Amihan from 2005 brought Mira back from the mortal realm as a bargaining chip against Pirena, she did not disclose this reasoning to her. Amihan from 2016 on the other hand was more transparent about her reasons, though the results were similar to what came before.
    • Amihan from 2005 was imprisoned in Lireo for much longer than Amihan from 2016 was. Also, Amihan from 2005 was released by Hitano as part of a bargain he made with Alena. Amihan from 2016, on the other hand, was soon after released by a masked Ybrahim.
