Armeo is a fictional character in Encantadia, a fantasy soap opera shown on Philippine television. Filipino actor Ian Veneracion plays Armeo.
Profile[]
King Armeo is Meno's son and rightful heir to the Sapiryan throne. His real name was Gion. He was renamed by his father as Armeo as tribute to his deceased brother whose name is also Armeo. Mayne was his queen. He is the ado (father) of Prince Ybrahim and, thus, the ilo (grandfather) of the Sang'gres Lira, Kahlil and Armea, and of the half-Etherian Arman.

Armeo wasn't found by Meno until the fall of Etheria.
Sang'gre's Intervention
Prior to the war against Etheria, Meno gained the courage to appear at Agartha's residence. Gion was introduced to him as Agartha's son while she was a teen. Meno checked his back and saw the mark of a Sapiryan. Meno brought him back to Sapiro and Meno introduced him to his queen. Asval was unhappy with this and attempted to kill the queen and him only to be stopped by Raquim.

Armeo is a young king yet a wise ruler. Armeo had calculated that the Sapiro may lose in the war hence, he prepared in advanced. He had the treasures of Sapiro locked away and made two kantaos as keys. He also prepared an army that will escort Queen Mayne and Prince Ybrahim away from Sapiro.
He managed to obtain the key to Encantadia without Galatea noticing and gave it to Lira.
Encantadia (Book 1)[]

King Armeo was the keeper of the Earth Gem after it was cleaved and divided among the four rulers of the kingdoms of Encantadia (Mine-a of Lireo, Keeper of the Wind Gem, Arvak of Hathoria, Keeper of The Fire Gem and Imaw of Adamya, Keeper of the Water Gem). It was during Armeo’s rule that hostility swept over Encantadia when the Hathors threatened to seize the gemstones from the other kingdoms. Armeo and his cousin, Prince Raquim, rescued the Adamyans from the clutches of the Hathors after they have acquired the Water Gem from the small denizens. In the battle that ensued, Armeo slew King Arvak and obtained the gemstones of Fire, Earth and Water. In that same battle came Armeo’s unexpected demise at the hands of Arvak’s son, Hagorn and the eventual fall of Sapiro transpired. Before his death Armeo was able to give the Brilyante ng Lupa to Raquim.
Armeo and his beloved Mayne whom he called Minastasia.
Lira later met Armeo when she went to Devas and commented that her grandfather is papable. Armeo and Kahlil were sent by Emre to help in killing the Hadezars. Lira tells him her father Ybrahim wanted to meet him but Armeo says there'll be a time for that. Armeo, Mayne and Kahlil came during Danaya's coronation. Armeo returns again to officiate Ybrahim and Alena's wedding. He also crowned Ybrahim as the new king of Sapiro.
Etheria (Book 2)[]
Armeo lived a simple life as Gion not knowing he's a prince of Sapiro and Meno's heir until he took him.
Encantadia Pag-ibig Hanggang Wakas (Book 3)[]
Lira wanted to return to Encantadia to meet her daughter but she failed Galatea's test by taking the wrong key. Armeo took pity on Lira and gave the correct key to leave Devas. This resulted in Ybrahim's death. Armeo later welcomed Ybrahim to Devas.

- Armeo is the most recurring Devas character.
- In 2016 instead of Armeo, Amihan was sent by Emre along with Kahlil to help kill the Hadezars.
- In 2016 Amihan is named after the deceased sibling of Mine-a just like Gion being renamed to Armeo the name of Meno's deceased sibling.
