Directed by Rico Gutierrez and Enzo Williams, it stars Faith Da Silva, Angel Guardian, Kelvin Miranda, and Bianca Umali. It premiered on June 16, 2025 on the network's Prime line up replacing Lolong: Pangil ng Maynila. The series is set to conclude on April 1, 2026 with a total of 208 episodes. It will be replaced by The Master Cutter in its timeslot.
Production[]
On January 1, 2022, during the New Year countdown, GMA Network has announced the shows that they are going to produce. On the other hand, the Sang'gre TV series was confirmed to be on development.
On January 25, 2022, former Director Mark A. Reyes confirms on an Instagram post that the series is now on development.
On Comic Con, Sang'gre was one of those featured.
Development[]
The new generation of Sang'gre.
During the day it was announced, there were no further details revealed yet. But according to some reports, the story will tell about a young woman, who happens to be the long-lost daughter of Sang’gre Danaya, as she starts discovering her own superpowers.
The creatives also confirm that Cassiopea's sister is set to make her return as well. During an interview with Pep TV, Glaiza De Castro and Sanya Lopez confirm their return for the upcoming series. And also Kylie Padilla and Gabbi Garcia may come back.
In 2022, an admin, "Hsu Hsu," of an Encantadia fan page in Myanmar (Encantadia နှင့်ကြိုက်ရာတင်မယ်), who currently works on Myanmar's biggest Encantadia fandom, "Mysterious Encantadia Fan Club of Myanmar," asked encantadia writer miss Suzette Doctolero if it is true that there will be a continuation of Encantadia 2016. She answered, "Yes, there's going to be a new season of Encantadia in 2024." This proves that Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre is the next part of the story. It also shows that the series is either being made or will come out soon.
On October 23, 2023, it was announced that the cast reveal for Sang'gre.[1] The name for Danaya's daughter, "Terra," the Earth gem keeper, is also announced. Four days later, October 27, revealed the three casts of the guardians of the Fire (Flamarra), Water (Adamus), and Air (Deia). On November 3, Rhian Ramos is revealed to portray Mitena, the queen of Mine-a-ve and Cassiopea's sister. Other cast members are also revealed.
On January 1, 2024, at midnight, the second teaser of Encantadia Chronicles Sang'gre, "Past Meets Present," was released. In this teaser all the old Sang'gres are coming back, and Director Mark confirmed that the 2nd generation of Sang'gres will come back again in Encantadia: Chronicles Sang'gre.
On April 18, 2024, it was revealed that Gabbi Garcia is focusing on working out while Sanya Lopez is focusing on her action scenes. The excitement of Encantadia's requel stars Gabbi Garcia, Sanya Lopez, Glaiza De Castro, and Kylie Padilla. Aside from their reunion, they are also discussing the new set and their characters in the show.
Initially, Mark A. Reyes was hired as the director and later left the series in November 2024. Rico Gutierrez and Enzo Williams served as his replacements.
Airing[]
Greg Aldrin, one of the writers of Encantadia, said in a live chat on the Encantadia Saga Facebook Page that the new Encantadia Chronicles show was originally planned to start airing in the second or first week of June. However, because the show Lolong got extended, they decided to move the release date to June 16, 2025.
Story Continuity[]
Many viewers noticed that some happenings do not align with what happened in Encantadia 2016. The writer, Suzette Doctolero, explained that she preferred the 2005 continuity, which is why Armea is added. The original version was not a perfect match, but due to some similarities in the lore Etheria: The Fifth Kingdom of Encantadia might be the story before Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre.
