Sang'gre Mira is a major character from the Philippine fantasy television series Encantadia 2016 and Encantadia: Chronicles Sang'gre produced by GMA Network. She grew up thinking she is Lira, Amihan's daughter and heiress, but she is actually Pirena's daughter. At first, she was supposed to be the honorary successor of Amihan together with Lira, but her Ashti Danaya became Queen of Lireo, according to the will of Amihan. She is portrayed by Kate Valdez.
Profile
Mira was conceived out of Pirena's desire to take revenge on her sister Amihan and her plans to take over Lireo when the time is right.
Appearance and Outfits
Mira has long black hair and brown eyes.
In her previous main appearance, she wore a red sleeveless gown and red heels; currently, her main outfit is green.
In her warrior form, she wears red and black midriff armor, her armor skirt reaches her left knee and red and black boots. She also wears armor gloves and a red circlet on her forehead.
As the chosen successor of the Brilyante ng Tubig, her outfit is the same as Lira's, but its color is green with red outlines.
Personality
Mira, by nature, is a kind, loving, and courageous woman who stands by those she loves and holds her head high even in the face of adversity. Despite being born from her previously treacherous mother, Pirena, and having a bloodline that stretches to the power-hungry rulers of Hathoria, she possessed none of these qualities, instead taking after the mother who raised her, Amihan, in many ways. Unlike her biological mother who once thought so highly of herself and her abilities, Mira was far humbler and more grounded, seeing the denizens of Encantadia as people to serve and not be served by. Her heart always in the right place, she always stood for the betterment of her kingdoms and Encantadia at large, even if it means antagonizing such fearsome individuals as Pirena and Hagorn.
Another bond that defined her character is the one she had with Lira, her cousin. Despite the attention and concern her mothers directed towards Lira, she never resented her cousin for it, understanding that she was not the one to blame. Instead, she loved Lira like a sister, supporting her through her struggles and almost always being found by her side no matter what. Even when they had feelings for the same person, she did not see Lira as competition. Their bond is so close that Lira's vocabulary has rubbed off on Mira, something that her mother remarked about with annoyance.
However, she is not without internal struggle, as she was used as a pawn by her biological mother in her schemes to usurp Lireo and even her adoptive mother took her back from the mortal world to use her as a bargaining chip, something that bred deep resentment in her heart, painful enough for her to attempt to take her own life. Additionally, when she found out about her true parentage and Pirena tried to force a connection with her daughter, Mira would regard it with outright rejection, spurning her mother at every turn despite loving her deep down. She is also not as refined as she appears, as she and Lira took out their frustrations at not being chosen as future keepers of the Gems on those who were chosen first.
Upon her death and ascending to Devas, Mira's personality initially softened, pleading with her mother and uncle to remain among them and cease from returning to Encantadia to aid in the fight against Mitena. However, this too would change, as her own concern for her mother, Pirena, who escaped Devas with her cousin Gaiea, would push her to do the same, taking Lira down with her. Such is the love and loyalty Lira is capable of, willing to risk her own safety for those she holds dear.
Story
Birth
Mira was born in the land of Hathoria, fathered by a Diwata soldier, Gamil. She was then taken by her mother Pirena back to Lireo, though no one knew that Pirena had been pregnant and had borne a baby girl at around the same time Amihan bore her daughter Lira. Pirena switched Lira with Mira, so Mira can grow up to be the Queen's successor. The true Lira was then taken to the human world and left to die. Mira's ascension to the throne was essential to Pirena's plans.
Growing Up
While growing up, Mira was given all the opportunities and advantages of a Sang'gre (a Diwata of royal blood). She became known as Lira and was doted upon by her supposed mother and aunts. As she grew, she was given lessons on basic combat skills and was allowed to participate in some council meetings so she can learn how to be a Queen. However, it had been noted by many--including the Queen's council as well as the Queen's sister Danaya--that Mira seemed childish and wholly unready to be Queen. Her general behavior had led people to doubt that she will ever be ready to rule.
Meeting Cassiopiea
Upon overhearing the doubts about her abilities, Mira ran away to the forest to gather her wits and calm herself down. There, she was approached by Cassiopea, first Queen of the Diwata, who introduced herself to the younger Diwata as a fortune-teller. Due to what she heard earlier in the day, Mira asked Cassiopea if she will be Queen in the future. Cassiopea told her that she will never be Queen, as she will forsake Encantadia for the love of a mortal man. Unbeknownst to Mira, Cassiopea saw that Mira will serve as the way for the true Lira to return to Encantadia.
The Mortal World
When Pirena learned of Mira's fortune, she persuaded Mira to go to the mortal world and kill the man that will get in her way of being Queen. Mira agreed, and slipped away to the mortal world. There, she met the true Lira, though the encounter was short. Mira is also met Anthony, the man in Cassiopea's prediction. Mira was unable to kill him, and before long she was found by Amihan and taken back to Encantadia. Once back home, Mira became curious about the nature of love and became fixated on returning to the mortal world.
Going against her mother in exchange for Lira
Following Lira's abduction into Hathoria, Amihan decided to return to the mortal world in order to take her back to Encantadia since Pirena wanted Danaya and Amihan's Brilyantes in exchange for Lira's freedom. Mira is happy to see her Ashtis again, but is completely changed when she finds out that she was only returned to Encantadia because she was to be used against her own mother, Pirena. After arriving at Hathoria, Danaya, Amihan and Pirena readied themselves for battle until Mira interrupts, stating that her existence is merely to become a tool for anyone to use and that, no one had genuinely cared for her. She is hurt by how she is treated by everyone around her. So she decided that in order for her to no longer feel any pain she has to die.
Suicide attempt
She then took the sword of Amihan and stabbed herself in the stomach. Amihan and Danaya immediately left Lireo bringing the massively wounded Mira to one of Amihan's former camps. Mira was losing more blood as time continued to flow. Danaya tried to heal her using the Brilyante ng Lupa but the rules of Devas that doesn't allow the gem to heal someone who tried to take away her own life. Nevertheless, Danaya did not stop finding a way to heal her.
She commanded the Brilyante ng Lupa to direct her to the leaves with medicinal properties. Danaya then used these leaves to heal Mira. Danaya was about to leave her to join Amihan in Lireo but Mira already regained consciousness and asked her ashti a favor. Danaya brought her to the portal of the Bandidos so that she can return to the World of Mortals.
Back into the Mortal World
After the incident, she lived again with Anthony. However, Mira didn't know that Anthony is in love with her.
Later on Encantadia
While Mira lived with Anthony on the mortal world, Lira's parents can't remember that she was the real Lira but her parents still don't believed and they believed that Lira was dead since her childhood. They also can't know who knows Lira was because she was cursed by Bathalumang Ether. Back on the mortal world, Mira was sent by Bathalang Emre to Encantadia so Lira's parents can remember her. With the help of Emre, he disguised as Ether and sent them to Evades. While they're with Evades, Emre fought with Ether. Lira ate a fruit from Evades and the curse that was given by Ether turned into normal. After the incident, Mira returned to the Mortal World.
Bringing Mira back to Encantadia
Reyna Amihan had announced in Lireo that Mira will be the next queen of Lireo. Lira was working as a Dama during that time. She helped the Lirean Soldiers to bring back Mira into Encantadia. Later, the Hathors came to their front and killed the Lirean Soldiers. Lira went to the Mortal World with the help of the Asnamon Tree. Mira and Anthony are having a date during that time and later, Agane with the Hathors fought with Mira. Lira appeared and they helped each other. After the fight, Lira told that Mira will be the next queen of Lireo. When Mira and Lira were going to go back to Encantadia, Anthony told to Mira "I love you!". Mira also told that to Anthony and went back to Encantadia.

Amnesia Arc
The New Queen
When Mira went to Lireo, Amihan told her that she will be the next queen of Lireo.
New Threat Arc
Mira was later on cured by Pirena having obtained the cure in exchange of Andora. Mira attempted to take the cure from Hagorn but failed. Mira tells Hagorn she will forever be disgusted by the blood that lies within her.
Epilogue
Mira attends the wedding of her mother with Azulan. Mira is finally meets the ivtre of her father, Gamil, during the coronation of Hara Alena of Lireo.
Encantadia Chronicles Sang'gre
It was revealed Mira and Lira went on an adventure around Encantadia. They went back to Sapiro when Tukman and Mantuk called them. The Mine-a-ve attacked Sapiro and Mira was one of the casualties. Mira was stabbed from behind by Zaur. Pirena arrived and tried to save Mira but Mira told her to prioritize Lira first. Mira dies and her soul was brought to Devas where Amihan and Ybrahim greet them.
Powers and Abilities
- Ivictus - Like all Diwata of royal blood, Mira possesses the ability known as Ivictus, which allows her to instantly move from one location to another without occupying the space in between. When using this power, she disappears in a swirling mass of air and reappears in the same manner at her chosen destination. Mira is also capable of bringing others with her, provided they are in direct physical contact with her at the moment of teleportation. This ability is commonly used for rapid travel, tactical repositioning in battle, and emergency rescues.
- Energy Shockwave (Through Kamao ni Emre) - Through the use of her enchanted sword bestowed upon her by Emre, Mira can generate a powerful energy shockwave by thrusting the blade into the ground. The resulting force radiates outward, strong enough to knock down multiple enemies simultaneously. The shockwave is believed to be more powerful than that produced by the Kabilan, as its range and impact have proven exceptionally destructive. Mira notably used this ability to save Alena when she was surrounded by Hagorn and his allies.
- Sharp Intellect - Mira possesses a keen and highly developed intellect, particularly in matters of warfare and strategy. Having been raised and trained under the belief that she was the true heir to the throne, she received extensive instruction in leadership, battlefield tactics, and defensive planning. This background makes her strategic knowledge more advanced than that of her cousin Lira. Her capabilities were trusted by Amihan and Danaya, who entrusted her with the protection of the throne during their absence from Lireo, confident in her experience and ability to command the castle guards and safeguard the kingdom.
- Advanced Combat and Swordfighting Skill - Mira is highly skilled in combat and is notably more experienced in battle than her cousin Lira. She has chosen swordsmanship as her primary fighting style and demonstrates exceptional proficiency with the blade. Mira is quick to analyze her opponents, anticipate their movements, and execute effective countermeasures. Her speed, flexibility, and tactical cunning allow her to engage multiple enemies at once, delivering swift, precise strikes and fluid sword techniques in combat.
- Heightened Senses - Mira exhibits heightened sensory awareness, making her exceptionally alert to changes in her surroundings. She has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to sense approaching danger before others, such as when she was the first to detect enemy presence in Sapiro and later when she felt the unnatural silence that signaled danger in Balaak. This heightened perception allows her to anticipate attacks and respond swiftly, giving her a decisive advantage in both combat and defensive situations.

- Like her cousin, Lira, there are noticeable differences between herself and her predecessor from 2016.
- Mira from 2016 was much kinder than her predecessor, emulating many of her adoptive mother's traits.
- Mira from 2016 had a much more significant role in the story than her predecessor, as the latter died before the end of the first book.
- Mira from 2005 would harbor a great deal of resentment towards Amihan when she was used as a bargaining chip in the conflict against Pirena, staying out of the conflict and preferring to remain in the mortal realm where she can be close to Anthony. In 2016, while Mira was hurt by this development and distanced herself accordingly, she remained in her adoptive mother's care after returning from the mortal realm up until Amihan's untimely death.
- Mira from 2005 possessed the power to control fire aside from the standard abilities a Sang'gre wields as well as competencies in armed and unarmed combat, but these did very little for her when she was engaged in a battle. Mira from 2016 was less powerful on her own, but much more competent in battle, bravely fighting alongside her loved ones in many a battle.
- Though Mira from 2005 loved her cousin, Lira, she saw her as an obstacle to Anthony and even betrayed her at one point to get her out of the way. However, Mira from 2016 loved Lira like a sister, supporting her through everything she went through, and never let anything or anyone get in between their sisterhood.
- Both Miras' reactions to learning their real parentages differed. Mira from 2005 was apathetic to the news, distancing herself from her mother as much as possible. Mira from 2016 was far more disgusted by the news than her predecessor and initially regarded her real mother with much more disdain, retaining this shame in regards to her grandfather.
- Mira from 2005 was only able to forgive Pirena before her death. Mira from 2016, on the other hand, was able to reconcile with Pirena properly, embracing her as her mother and even building a better Hathoria together.
- Mira from 2005 was never meant to inherit a Brilyante from any of her elders. Mira from 2016, on the other hand, was designated to inherit the Gem of Water from her ashti Alena, though she never got to do so despite surviving the war.
- Mira from 2005 did not have proper armor to wear in battle, nor any weapons to wield. Mira from 2016, on the other hand, has her own set of armor and weapons, even receiving the Kamao ni Emre AND the Kabilan on separate occasions.
